This is the amusing moment a baby elephant tried to climb a fence before getting his hind legs stuck.

Footage shows the four-year-old male jumbo named Khun Seuk struggling to free himself from the wooden fence in Chiang Mai province in Thailand on May 8.

The animal’s caretaker said Khun Seuk liked to copy the older elephants but he was still too small to step over the fence.

He said: ‘He’s a smart little elephant but he doesn’t realise that he’s still small for the fence. It was funny. He was able to get off with the help of the other staff.’
