Olivia, 18, from Texas, had worked at Palm Beach Tan as a tanning consultant since earlier this year but decided to leave because her "management sucked".

The TikToker filmed the entire process of her quitting the company and shared it with her followers, explaining that the job had left her "fed up" and "miserable."

"I never left solely because of how slow our business was."

Olivia also felt fed up with the "poor management" at her workplace and claims her district manager would often "leave me out of conversations" because of her age.

"That was offensive to me because I am an adult, and I do the same work, if not more, than the actual adults working in the store with me," she said.

Finally, Olivia had had enough and on the 24th of June, the young woman decided to quit.

She said: "The day I quit, it had already been a slow day.

"I had been closing that entire week by myself already and I was really exhausted.

"The day before, my manager said he was leaving early, but would be there the next day to close with me.

"After sitting on his phone in the lobby, FaceTiming his friend the entire time I was there, he came up to me and told me he was leaving at 1:30 pm because of how slow it was.

Olivia initially decided to film the whole process on TikTok as a joke for her pals but was shocked to discover that she'd quickly gone viral.

She said: "A lot of former PBT employees were showing their support, as well people who had worked for bad companies and management as well.

"It was very validating to know people, especially people who previously worked for PBT, had similar experiences as me. It showed me how bad the corporation really was."

Olivia claims that the store has been inundated with bad reviews since her video went viral, going from 4.5 to 1.8 stars.

However, she stresses that she hasn't personally asked anyone to leave a bad review or made any fakes reviews herself.

To them, she says: "I want those people to understand that I didn’t quit for no reason.

"I was being emotionally abused at this job, I was miserable, overworked, and discriminated against solely because I am 18.

She added: "This small job won’t matter in 10 or 20 years down the road."
