1 dead after inebriated driver crashes Audi into auto in southern India
A spine-chilling incident came to the fore where a negligent driver endangered the lives of two in southern India's Telangana on June 27. The incident took place near Inorbit Mall in Hyderabad.
CCTV footage features the driver racing his Audi on the road drenched with rainwater during the early hours of the day. Within moments, the car crashes into the auto from behind, tossing it away on the roadside after giving it an uncontrollable spin in the air. Following this, the person recklessly speeds off from the area, unbothered by the damage he caused.
The accused was negligently driving under the influence of alcohol after a party and was returning with his friend to Jubilee Hills when it rammed into the auto and fled the scene. Following this, the victim, identified as Umesh Kumar, working in the Prism Pub, died while the auto driver was admitted in a critical condition.
However, the two accused, identified as Sujith and his friend Ashish, got stranded as the tyre of the car got punctured after the accident, just a few meters away from the collision spot. Following this, they removed the number plates and threatened security guards in the area who tried to confront them.
Fortunately, police received information about this horrific accident and registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against Sujith and Ashish. However, Sujith's father, Raghunandan Reddy, told the police that his driver was behind the incident and not his son. So, the cops arrested the father, his son, and his friends and sent them to judicial custody.
