Tobacco items worth $2,692 seized from store in southern India

Despite the prohibition against the sale of chewable tobacco to save society against severe health issues, its illicit business kept booming in southern India's Telangana on June 29. The incident took place in Jangamet in Hyderabad.

Visuals feature several sacks and cartons full of illicit tobacco-related items seized from a wholesale store by the officials. Following this, they apprehend the miscreant to avoid the sale of these illegal products and keep a check on all the items for further investigation.

The Commissioner's South Zone Task Force, Hyderabad team, along with the Chatrinaka police, raided one shop named Zain Wholesale Store in Jangamet and apprehended one person, identified as Mohammad Nazeer, for selling the banned products.

Moreover, the cops seized Win cigarette boxes, Paris cigarettes, H10 cigarettes, RR tobacco, Vimal tobacco, Mehraj tobacco, and other such products from the store worth Rs. 2 lakh (USD 2,692). Furthermore, the materials were handed over to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Chatrinaka Police Station for further investigation.
