Indian Army provides wheelchair to specially-abled people in remote areas in northern India
Amid the challenging times in the country, the troops crossed all hurdles to distribute mobility aid equipment to underprivileged people in northern India's Jammu and Kashmir on June 29. The incident took place in Rajouri and Reasi districts.
Visuals feature the Army personnel crossing the hilly areas with wheelchairs on their shoulders to provide aid to the specially-abled people in the far-flung areas. Following this, they distribute the mobility equipment among the families of the unfortunate ones while they feel grateful and praise the soldiers for helping them.
These remote villages in the hilly areas of Rajouri and Reasi districts lack any connectivity to the modern medical equipment available in towns and cities, making them deprived of several resources. These districts have splintered settlements of humble hordes of Gujjars and Bakkarwals.
Moreover, several children and elders are rendered immobile due to birth abnormalities, disease, senile age, or accidents, forcing them to live a life of misery. Following this, the Indian Army reached out to Ludhiana-based Vardhaman Industries to help them with the initiative and with the requirement. Fortunately, things worked in their favor, and the troops distributed 50 wheelchairs and provided relief to the citizens.
