Filipino fisherman cuts net to free shark he caught accidentally
A kind fisherman cut open his net to free a shark that was trapped in the Philippines.
Footage shows the marine animal struggling to breathe inside the fishing gear in Toledo City, Cebu province.
Fisherman Alex Mercado Bardoquillo said it was the first time that a shark had been caught in his net while trawling in the area.
He said: "We have seen the shark following our boat a few hours before it was trapped. We thought it left but when we pulled the net we saw the creature was stuck."
The creature is believed to be a thresher shark, which are found in all temperate and tropical oceans of the world.
