Further eruptions at Italy's Mount Etna saw another spectacular fountain of lava display.

Footage from Friday morning (July 2) shows splurges of lava illuminated the darkened sky.

The volcano has already exceeded 40 eruptions this year.

Here a new spectacular eruption on the Etna Volcano with lava fountains 700 meters over the Southeast Crater and a huge lava flows in a west-southwest direction from the southwest vent of the Southeast Crater. The winds from the northwest pushed the massive ash column towards the southeast, bringing the ash to the main inhabited centers of the southeast side such as Zafferana Etnea, Santa Venerina, and up to the coast in the direction of Giarre. This year the Etna volcano has already exceeded 40 eruptions and seems not to want to stop. Catania, July 02, 2021.
