Anti-establishment protesters gathered in front of the government house in Bangkok, Thailand, this afternoon (July 2).

Demonstrations and rallied had stopped in recent months due to the outbreaks of Covid-19 cases. However, despite surging numbers with now more than 6,000 cases a day, activists have resumed their anti government movement.

Footage shows the group facing off with police officers who manned a razor wire barricade in front of the political building.

Protesters criticised the military government's handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and called for more aid for struggling businesses. Anti-royal factions of the movement are also demanding reform of the monarchy and changes to the country's constitution.
