Helicopter pilot struggles against heavy Cumbria wind
Dramatic footage has emerged from Cumbria, UK of a helicopter pilot struggling to fly low amid heavy winds on Monday.
The filmer later wrote online: "Watch as this skilful pilot manoeuvres his heli in windy conditions taking a heavy payload onto the fells in the Lake District, Cumbria.
"In windy conditions the mountain air becomes very turbulent even at low levels making the flying hazardous and requiring excellent piloting skills.
"Helicopters are often used in the Lake District to lift heavy stones for path repairs or for lifting equipment for infrastructure maintenance."
