A toddler was striving for his life after floating inside neck-deep water in central India's Madhya Pradesh on July 5. The incident took place in Karaiya village in the Sagar district.

The four-year-old boy named Shiva was playing during the daytime when he slipped and accidentally dropped inside a six-foot-deep pit dug by villagers. The ditch was filled with water, following which the boy struggled to stay afloat and began to drown in it. Fortunately, his six-year-old brother, Karthik, saw him floating on the surface and immediately sprang inside the water to rescue his little brother.

Luckily, the family members of the boys heard Karthik's cry for help and instantly rushed to ascertain the situation. They further pulled the kids to safety and noticed that Shiva was not breathing and his heartbeats were fading away. Upon encountering this situation, the panic-stricken parents frantically tried to save their kid and rushed him to the hospital.

There the District Malaria Officer, Dr. L.S Shakiya, observed that Shiva's was in a critical state as his heartbeat had stopped, and his lungs were full of water. He immediately swung into action and pumped the water out of the child's lungs and managed to save him. The doctor referred Shiva to get his medication in a hospital in Sagar while his father, Shivcharan Rajouria, and his kin took a sigh of relief and considered Shiva's health stability a miracle.
