A group of villagers resorted to superstitious beliefs to invite monsoons in central India's Madhya Pradesh on July 7. The incident took place in the Asadi village, located in the Chicholi region of the Betul district.

Visuals feature the locals gathered around an idol of a Hindu deity, Indra Dev. A group of young boys covers the statue with mud, following which they put flowers on it. Then, the group walks around the mud-clad idol in circles while a curious group of onlookers gathers around.

After the monsoon did not arrive in the region on the estimated date, the panic-stricken locals resorted to superstitions. They believe that if they cover the idol of the Hindu deity with mud, they can make it rain. Moreover, they also believe that the ritual has worked for them in the past as well.
