The officials busted a counterfeit cotton seeds racket in southern India's Telangana on July 9. The incident took place in Nalgonda.

Visuals feature the back of a pick-up lorry stuffed with sacks full of illegal seeds. The accused squat on the ground in front of the seized seeds while the officials carry out a press conference. Later, they reveal the details of the case.

The officials were investigating the scam for the past three months. The goons manufactured the counterfeit seeds with chemical dyes under fake company names and then sold them with labels that appeared to be legit.

A team of police officials, led by Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Venkateshwar Reddy, seized at least three tonnes of counterfeit cotton seeds. Moreover, they arrested six accused and retrieved eight phones and 300 empty packets from them.
