Missing 12-foot Burmese python found curled up inside the wall of a mall in Louisana
This is the moment a 12-foot python was found in curled up inside the wall two days after it escaped in a mall.
Cara the Burmese python pushed through the corner of her tank on Monday night (05/07) and, when discovered missing the following morning, caused the closure of the entire mall.
After snake trackers followed her trail through the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA, they finally located her at around 3:45am on Thursday (08/07) morning.
The video of her rescue shows a worker carrying Cara out of a large hole cut high into a wall, and stepping down a ladder.
After being found she was transported to the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine for a health check, and was released from their care the same afternoon.
Over 140 shops inside the mall were closed after she was discovered missing from the Blue Zoo Aquarium, but reopened once staff deduced she must still be somewhere inside the aquarium.
Cara weighs about 150 pounds and her species is non-venomous, but the aquarium and other shops at the mall remained closed as a precaution.
After firefighters and police failed to locate her, an expert snake tracker was flown in to help follow her trails.
A Blue Zoo worker said that security camera videos showed the snake slithering out of its enclosure and entering the store's ceiling.
The aquarium reportedly brought in a night vision camera and motion sensor cameras, which plumbing and HVAC companies put into openings and small areas.
