A security guard sitting down outside a jewellery shop in Solapur, western India, was shocked after a speeding car slammed into a nearby fence.

The guard jumped out of his chair after the vehicle collided with the fence just a few metres in front of him.

Pratish Gawde, 30, who was driving the car was thrown out of the vehicle, and a portion of the gate fell on him. His friend Amit Khandekar, 29, was stuck inside the car.

According to police, both men were taken to hospital where they are recovering.

The unnerving incident occurred at Solapur in western India in the early hours of June 24.

The over speeding car driver lost control and crashed into the jewelry shop’s compound, wrecking it completely, but sparing the security guard.

Police said both the injured men were taken to a government hospital for treatment, where they are recovering.
