This is the moment a cyclist pedalled through a stunning glacier cave in Zermatt in Switzerland.

Beat Habegger said pulling off the unusual feat on March 10 was fraught with difficulties.

Most people visit the cave on skis or wearing snowshoes but Habbeger was determined to get there on his fat bike.

"Riding up on a snowy road and then on the ski slope took us 3.5 - 4 hours," he said.

"Two very steep bits, we had to push the bikes," he added.

As fascinating as this video looks, the cyclist revealed that it wasn't an easy feat to pull off due to multiple reasons. He shared: "People usually go to glacier cave wearing skis or snowshoes. But I wanted to ride my fat bike on this icy path."

Beat continued: "First, I visited the site wearing skis. From that moment, I knew how badly I wanted to film this video! So, since it is forbidden to be on an open ski slope with a bike, we had to be back in town before the ski area opened. So, we started at 3 AM!"

The thrillseeker added: "Riding up on a snowy road and then on the ski-slope took us 3.5 - 4 hours. Most of it was ridable! 2 very steep bits, we had to push the bikes. We arrivOnly on ed at the cave around 6:30 am, took some rest, changed clothes, filmed some stuff, left the cave around 7:30 am, and were back in town at 8:30 am, just before the ski area opened."
