Flash floods submerged a street in Pattaya, Thailand, after continuous heavy rain on July 12.

Footage shows the vehicles slowly moving through the water-covered streets in Chonburi province following the tropical downpour.

The Thai Meteorological Department forecast more rain in the coming days as the storm moved from the Gulf of Tonkin in upper Vietnam coupled with the monsoon over the Andaman sea and the Gulf of Thailand resulting in thunderstorms in 70 percent of the eastern region of Thailand.

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are at the start of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
