This is the heartwarming moment a hapless bird trapped inside a metal pole for four days was rescued in Thailand.

Footage shows a kind resident attempting to free the bird from the metal structure by using his fingers in Suphan Buri province.

At first, the oriental-magpie robin bird refused to leave through the hole so the man tried to pull out its leg but realised he might injure the creature.

He then held on to the bird’s beak and slowly dragged it out with his bare hands. After a few tries, the bird was able to exit the hole without a scratch.

Resident Sakol Somboon said: ‘I heard flapping noises for the past three to four days so I thought there might be some animal trapped in between the pole. When we put up a flashlight we spotted a tiny black bird waiting to be freed.’
