A sweet moment between orphaned albino baby elephant Khanyisa and her best friend Lammie the sheep
Khanyisa the orphaned albino elephant was rescued from a poacher's snare in January 2020 and came to Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development for rehabilitation and care. During her time at the orphanage, Khanyisa has become best friends with Lammie, a Pedi sheep who has acted as a mother to many orphaned animals.
In this video, taken during the first big lockdown in South Africa in 2020, Khanyisa and Lammie have some fun together while assisting with chores around the orphanage.
