Man stuck under bridge during flash flood rescued in the Philippines
This is the dramatic moment a man stuck under a bridge during a flash flood was rescued in the Philippines.
Three workers were repairing the crossing when the water in the river below suddenly rose and trapped the men in Davao City on July 13.
They rushed to the river banks but one of them was stranded in the middle of the gushing water clinging to a rope placed by the workers.
Soon after rescuers arrived in the area to save the worker. A brave volunteer climbed down on a harness and helped pull the man from under the bridge.
Resident BM Nozuab said: "The old man was left below and sent the other two to ask for help so he was left under the bridge. Rescuers arrived as well as other kind passersby who volunteered to help."
More than 300 residents were evacuated that night due to high water caused by heavy downpours which triggered flash floods in the area.
