A deadly fire broke out in a sweet shop and caused extensive damage to property in central India's Madhya Pradesh on July 14. The incident took place in Chhatarpur.

Visuals feature massive flames scaling from the shop on the roadside while plumes of thick clouds of black smoke emanating from the structure engulf the sky. In the meantime, the cops reach the spot to ascertain the situation but a major blast ensues panic among them as they run helter-skelter for their safety.

The fire broke out in the Krishna Gotiram Sweets shop while fitting the pipe in the gas furnace by turning on the regulator, but unfortunately during this time around five cylinders exploded within 20 minutes, ensuing chaos among the onlookers. Luckily, the car filled with more than 50 cylinders parked outside the gate of the shop was removed on time to avoid further damage.

Due to the lack of control of this fire, it gradually spread to the private dental clinic and nearby shops. Moreover, it was unveiled that the shop employee, Devendra Saini, started fitting the regulator in one cylinder kept near the burning gas furnace, but due to the high pressure of the gas, the pipe slipped from his hand and went towards the burning gas furnace and caught fire, which eventually led to several explosions.

However, the fire tenders reached the spot, along with the cops, and doused the blaze within 2.5 hours of the operation while the shop owners of all the stores incurred a huge loss as the fire gutted them all. Besides, no casualties were reported from the spot.
