Maastricht City Center Flooding Filmed From The Wilhelminabrug Bridge 15th July 2021

Flooding was expected in the city of Maastricht for the Thursday night of 15th July. Two neighbourhoods were already needing to evacuate around 8pm and others were preparing with sandbags. I took a walk with my boyfriend and I stopped and filmed the flooding at 11:30pm that showed the river rushing under the local main bridge, showing from left of the city center of Maastricht to the right.

As you can see, the river was already way above the banks of the river. As this was 11:30pm, the high tide was actually around 3am, so there were still a few hours to go. Luckily Maastricht hasn't been so badly affected, but still reached high water level records.
