Newcastle United takeover: File footage shows fan protest outside Premier League's offices
English Premier League football club Newcastle United has officially been bought in a Saudi Arabia-backed takeover for £305 million, it was confirmed today.
The Premier League had initially blocked the deal but in a statement today said: "The Premier League has now received legally binding assurances that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not control Newcastle United Football Club."
Here, file footage shows around Newcastle United fans gathered in Parliament Square in London and outside the Premier League's offices in London on July 16 to protest against the league's block of the takeover.
