Juvenile Whistling Kites at their nest – perching, watching, preening, calling and eating
Whistling Kites (Haliastur sphenurus) is found throughout Australia and is only absent from the most arid areas. This video shows two juvenile Whistling Kites – one is perched below its nest in a Tuart tree (Eucalyptus gomphocephala), looking about, preening and calling occasionally. The other juvenile Kite is in its nest eating a prey item.
