One in a quintillion chance? Man films himself cracking SIX double-yolk eggs

A British man beat extraordinary odds to crack six double-yolk eggs -- an entire box -- on Wednesday 14 July.

"I had planned to have a three-egg omelette for brunch. I cracked the first three & then thought 'surely not?' so went for all six!" said filmer David Windsor.

"The strangest thing is that I rarely buy eggs," Windsor joked.

According to the British Egg Information Service, one in every thousand eggs on average is a double-yolker.

That makes the probability of six in a row 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 or 1 in a quintillion.

However, the situation is complicated by the fact that double-yolkers tend to come in clusters from certain farms and certain birds and those eggs may well end up in the same box.

So, the actual probability of getting six in a row is much higher than 1 in a quintillion but what Windsor filmed is still an extremely rare event.
