Debris and destruction was left after flooding in Germany on Thursday 15 July.

Thunderstorms caused flooding across western Europe, leaving more than 1,300 people missing and more than 170 people dead.

Some 143 people died in flooding in Germany, including included about 98 in the Ahrweiler district south of Cologne, according to reports.
