A resident of Durban in South Africa has filmed the destruction left behind at storage units that were targeted by looters recently.

The footage captured on July 13 shows the ransacked units with items strewn all over the ground.

"There are riots and looting happening in South Africa due to the imprisonment of former president Jacob Zuma," said the filmer, Katie Goldman.

"A local storage facility was looted and I visited to see what of my possessions I might be able to salvage (it wasn't much, unfortunately)," she added.

"It was so sad to see people's items being thrown around and broken for absolutely no reason," Goldman concluded.
