This is the dramatic moment a boat sank last week in Germany after slamming into a bridge during the country's severe flooding.

Footage captured by Flo Möhlenbeck on July 15 in Mülheim an der Ruhr shows the crewless vessel "Moornixe" crashing into the bridge before capsizing and beginning to sink into the river Ruhr.

The boat that was built in 1933 and used for tourist tours was swept away from its mooring in the flooding that killed more than 160 people.

Last week in Germany there were some floods that resulted in elevated water levels. Due to these water levels and harsh seas the tourist touring boat "Moornixe" was dragged away from its port and pushed towards a bridge. Unfortunately due to the raised water level the boat could no longer fit under the bridge, which meant it was pushed up against it, and the pressure from the water built up until it flipped the boat and sank it. Luckily no-one was on the boat anymore!
