A 15-year-old boy, identified as Abhishek Katra, modified a bicycle into an e-cycle in central India's Madhya Pradesh on July 20. The incident took place in the Mohgaon village, located in the Lalbarra region of the Balaghat district.

Visuals feature Katra explaining the mechanics of the cycle he modified. Later, he rides the e-cycle on an open road surrounded by greenery. He also poses with his creation along with his family.

Katra dreamt of creating an electric cycle for over two years. However, his financial condition obstructed him from doing so. It was only after the pandemic-induced lockdown that he got the time and the resources to fulfill his dream.

His maternal uncle funded his goal and provided him with raw materials worth up to Rs 8 thousand (USD 107). Following this, he modified an old bicycle into an electric cycle that runs for nearly 30 km (18 miles) in a single charge.
