Gurkha veterans protested in Westminster, London, as part of a campaign for equal rights.

Several have announced plans to go on a hunger strike in an attempt to get the government to recognise their campaign.

Gurkha veterans today demonstrated in Westminster to demand equal pension rights to their British counterparts.

They attempted to deliver a letter addressed to PM Boris Johnson along with a copy of a book about Gurkha history. The Gurkha regiment have served in the British forces for almost 200 years and have been awarded 13 Victoria Crosses.

After laying wreaths at war memorials, members of the Gurkha veteran community will strike opposite Downing Street and if their requests are not met after 13 days, other veterans will arrive from Nepal to conduct a hunger strike, to the death.
