A protective mother duck would not allow this filmer anywhere near her ducklings that had become trapped in a paddle boat.

As Pollyanna McLawrence approached the trapped babies, their mother would fly up out of the water towards her in Virginia Beach, US.

McLawrence said: "This duck has been coming to our house for two years. Her ducklings were 2 days old and they somehow fell off of our dock into our paddleboat. I was trying to help get them out when she attacked me."

This footage was filmed on July 12.

Filmed in Virginia Beach, this video features Pollyanna McLawrence assuring a mallard mom that she would rescue her ducklings stuck on a boat. However, the wild duck soon loses patience and scares the filmer.
