Watch the moment a British man showed off the state of his London flat after heavy rainfall caused a leak in their ceiling.

Severe thunderstorms hit London on Sunday afternoon (July 25th) with the capital experiencing almost a months worth of rain in a single day causing flash floods and widespread property damage.

Twitter user Mabdulle posted footage of his flat in Shoreditch after water leaked from his ceiling "like a shower" for 12 hours.

In the video you can see a plumber on site attempting to help fix the problem.

Mabdulle said: "It was leaking like a shower from 2 pm till 2 am and we had several plumbers in the apartment trying to sort it out all last night, it’s thankfully stopped now although the leak has also happened to several other apartments in the building."

While the leak eventually subsided Mabdulle said that many other flats in the block were effected.

The MET office has warned of further Thunderstorms in the coming days.
