Residents rescued a 92-year-old woman who was trapped in mud for seven hours in southern China.

The video, filmed in the county of Tongjiang in Sichuan Province on July 5, shows a group of villagers using hoes to dig the mud away and pull the elderly woman out.

According to reports, the elderly woman accidentally walked into the muddy road and got trapped.

Since she did not bring a phone with her and no one else heard the woman shouting for help, she was trapped in the mud for around six hours before being spotted by a child walking past.

Fortunately, the elderly woman was rescued and only suffered scratches to her feet.

7月5日，四川通江县长乐村，92岁的老人尹连吉在赶集路上不慎陷入泥石流，为自救她挖断手指甲，但未成功。直到下午5点过才被过路人发现，已经被困大约7小时。救援人员经过近1个小时努力，将老人成功救出。
事后，老人的儿子蔡绍良了解到事情原委。当天上午，就在他出门后不久，母亲独自一人去就近的芝苞乡街道赶集买盐，因为附近高速公路建设，那条出村的必经之路堆满了施工弃土，遇到下雨天，弃土堆经雨水浸泡就成了泥石流，所以大家平时出村就选择的是另一条路。母亲可能不知情，误入了这条危险的老路，陷进去后努力挣扎，结果越陷越深，她没有带手机，只得大声呼救，但附近没有人家，嗓子都喊哑了，也不见人影。
下午五时许，一个过路的小孩发现了泥地中的老人，他们拍了照片告诉家长，家长将照片发到3社微信群，蔡绍良方才知情。

“大约是上午十点陷进去的，到被人发现，母亲在泥地里陷了六个多小时。”对于老母亲的遭遇，蔡绍良既后怕更心疼。“感谢那个孩子，感谢所有的好心人。”蔡绍良称，经过县人民医院检查，母亲只是脚部有擦伤，几天观察和休养后，现已回到老家。
