Chinese firefighters use excavator to rescue driver trapped in truck surrounded by floodwater
Firefighters used an excavator to rescue a driver trapped in a truck that was surrounded by rapid floodwater in northwestern China.
The heroic video, filmed in the city of Jiuquan in Gansu Province on July 25, shows a firefighter holding onto the arm of the excavator as it moved nearer the trapped driver inside the vehicle.
According to reports, the driver drove through a flooded bridge regardless of the warning sign and was washed away by the flash floods.
After receiving a report from residents, the police and firefighters arrived to rescue the driver.
After around an hour and a half, the truck driver was rescued successfully and he was not injured seriously.
