Farmers dig wells nearly 10 meters deep in search of water in the high mountains
Video captured the moment Farmers dig wells nearly 10 meters deep in search of water in the high mountains in Phu Yen, Viet Nam.
According to locals, they live high in the mountains and the area is being affected by the heat and high temperatures that have caused rivers and streams to dry up.
To maintain the water source they had to dig wells manually. The men would use a hoe to dig deep until they could see the water. There were places where they had to dig nearly 10 meters deep to see the water.
This is a very dangerous job because the deeper you go, the less oxygen there is. The men tried to dig as fast as possible and move up to avoid suffocation.
They said that because water is so important for life and plants, they tried to find sources of water to maintain. Since the area they live in is high in the mountains, it is difficult for vehicles to move in, so everything has to be done manually.
