This clip filmed on July 30 shows a Sumatran tiger being released back into the wild, after being rescued from an oil palm plantation in Indonesia.

Officers from the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA), released the animal in the protected forest area of West Pasaman, in the West Sumatra province, Indonesia.

Ardi Andono, Head of the West Sumatra KSDA Center, said that the tiger was captured in an oil palm plantation on July 19, using a box trap.

"It was chasing workers' cars, and was very scary" he explained.

The animal was released back to its natural habitat after 10 days of observation, on July 29, coinciding with International Tiger Day. She was named Sigopu.

"We hope that the tiger will breed", said Andono.

According to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Sumatran tigers "are the smallest surviving tiger subspecies". They are only found on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.
