Powerful winds stuck a city in northern China, ripping off roofs and damaging houses.

The video, filmed in the city of Handan in Hebei Province on July 31, shows strong winds blowing roofs off of buildings, breaking glass windows on a resident's balcony, damaging houses and powerlines.

Residents were seen squatting down to avoid the powerful winds.

According to reports, the speed of the winds reached 83.66 mph, becoming the strongest winds since the local meteorological station was established in 1956.

Six towns had power cuts and the water supply was cut off in some towns. Fortunately, no one was injured.

After a 10-hour emergency maintenance, the electric supply was back up in the six towns.

7月31日，河北邯郸峰峰矿区遭遇13级大风，多处屋顶铁皮被掀飞，行人趴地躲避，有市民家阳台玻璃被大风打碎，室内一地狼藉。大风还造成6个乡镇大面积停电，没有人员伤亡报告。
7月31日下午，峰峰矿区出现强对流天气，据当地气象台观测，瞬时风速达到37.4m/s，风力达到13级，是1956年该区气象站建站以来测得最大风。伴随大风，该区临水镇、峰峰镇等6个乡镇出现冰雹天气。
　　受此次强对流天气影响，峰峰矿区部分建筑物、电力设施、通讯设施、燃气管道、供水管道等基础设施不同程度受损，6个乡镇出现大面积停电，导致部分城区和乡镇自来水供应中断。据初步统计，受损市政供气供热管网0.87千米，受损市政供排水管网2.4千米，受损电力线路38.13千米，受损通信基站243个，受损通信线路142千米，受损树木8000余棵，彩钢瓦损坏195处，城市住房受损552处，受损车辆500余辆，农村住房受损164间，农业设施受损40处。
8月1日晚，经过十多个小时的全力抢修，受大风影响停电的河北省邯郸市峰峰矿区6个乡镇恢复供电。（视频由河北台提供）
