This is the shocking moment a power line exploded during a rainstorm in the Philippines.

Dashcam footage shows the electrical explosion on one of the posts while a monsoon battered a highway in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte province, on July 27.

Driver Lyhard Ramirez Eugenio said: "I think it was a broken branch that hit the wires and caused the explosion. It happened near a gasoline station so we decided to move back and drive on another route."

No one was reported hurt in the incident as the authorities were immediately notified by onlookers.

The large and damaging tropical cyclone typhoon In-fa had already made landfall in China but it intensified monsoons in the Philippines on a two-week-long heavy downpour.
