Drone footage captures aerial view of Lake District village after floods allegedly cause discharge of raw sewage into streets
A general aerial view of Staveley near Kendal in Cumbria, UK after floods allegedly caused a sewerage to contaminate the village.
According to BBC Cumbria, locals in Staveley have complained about regular flooding of raw sewage into the streets. It reports United Utilities as saying that it has carried out some repairs but doesn't plan further investment because work has to be prioritised across the region.
According to a Times report today, Staveley with Ings parish council has now declared “a moratorium on village development" over fears the plans might worsen the situation.
