Empty shelves at Wuhan's supermarkets as 8 new cases emerge in city

Empty shelves were spotted in a supermarket in central China's Wuhan after the city began testing the entire population for COVID-19.

In the video, some shelves were empty and residents were buying groceries in the supermarket.

A resident said there were no vegetables, rice, noodles, eggs or fresh meat in the supermarket when they were there at around 12 pm local time.

The local Bureau of Commerce has announced that it has sufficient stock for essential goods for living while all stores of key supermarkets and over 400 petrol station all open as usual.

Eight new COVID-19 cases emerged triggering the city to test its entire population.
