I am Ruth and I live in New York! There was this stray cat who kept showing up at our door! I finally set a trap and captured the stray cat - that cat turned out to not have been neutered, severe frost bite on its paws, and no one claimed him at the animal shelter after being there for a few weeks.

The reason we adopted a cat was because we actually had a cat before which was also a stray that we had adopted in April 2020 but sadly he ran away - we spent months searching for him. It was heart breaking to my sons Hudson and Dax. We decided to wait to adopt any other cat in hopes our cat would make it home. In January 2021 a friend of mine told me that she had found 50 stray kittens in a shed almost frozen to death and asked if I was interested- she knew our cat had ran away and she knew my boys wanted a cat so bad. We decided to adopt and thank god we did! We thought we were done with just one cat but somehow after 2 weeks of having Ginny at home- another cat kept showing up at our door! We are always open to rescuing more cats, Dax has been beginning for a third cat!

My favourite memory of Dax and Ginny would be the day we brought Ginny home and how well they bonded right away with each other. They both instantly loved each other.

What I would say to someone looking to rescuing cats would be- congratulations! It is such a rewarding & amazing thing to do. The two stray cats that we adopted have turned out to be the nicest cats I’ve ever met. They are such appreciative and loving animals. Everyone should adopt! They will never regret it.

I couldn’t sleep at night - I kept wondering if the stray cat was okay. My husband kept telling me to go see him at the shelter. Finally I called and asked if I could come visit him- i went and ended up taking him home. We named him Harry. My husband and two boys, Hudson and Dax, looove these cats just as much as I do. I was worried Ginny and Harry wouldn’t get along but they do so well! I can’t imagine life without them
