A huge monitor lizard was caught hiding in a factory’s toilet in central Thailand.

The cheeky reptile was found crawling up the stair steps when a terrified employee discovered it in Samut Prakan province on July 13.

Footage shows how the reptile noticed the woman and scampered away to hide behind the toilet door. When employee Sarawut Janboon entered to check, she was shocked to find the animal inside.

Sarawut said: ‘I couldn’t believe what I saw in the toilet. It even looked at me when I opened the door. I had to run outside for help.’

A colleague rushed to the toilet with a broom and a rope and helped Sarawut catch the animal. It was secured and tried to wriggle free but was later caught and released to the wild.
