A large 7-foot-long cobra was rescued and removed from a sewer pipe in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.

Footage from August 4 shows a snake catcher pulling the cobra from out of the pipe before taking a picture with it.

The snake is then placed into a box and was later released back into the wild.

Panic ensued among onlookers upon spotting a black cobra lurking in the darkness in central India's Madhya Pradesh on August 4. The incident took place in Sagar.

Visuals feature the expert attempting to rescue the black cobra slithering inside the sewer pipeline. The rescuer further uses a big stick-like object and pokes the snake out of its hiding spot. In the meantime, the terrifying reptile curls up while the man grabs it with his bare hands and attempts to confine it inside a box as it begins to coil on the ground of the slum area.

With the arrival of the monsoon, the snakes have started slithering into the residential areas. The seven-foot-long black cobra was spotted in the old ground of Vatsalya School near Pili Kothi in Sagar, following which the rescuer, Akeel Baba, was alerted by the people residing in the shanties. He further reached the spot and rescued the snake from within the sewer pipe and would release the serpent in the forest cover after ensuring its safety.
