Bina was hit with flash floods on Saturday 7 August, as central India's Madhya Pradesh was battered with heavy rain.

Video shows the area's narrow streets flooded with rainwater as locals wade through knee-high water.

Heavy rain has also affected the local railway stations, with trains forced to slow down as they go through the waterlogged station, the tracks submerged under the water.

The flooding comes as countries around the world are being hit by extreme weather events that scientists have linked to the climate crisis.

Several localities, as well as the railway station, got inundated after heavy downpours triggered flash floods in central India's Madhya Pradesh On August 7. The incident took place in Bina.

Visuals feature the narrow streets of the locality flooded with rainwater. The furious waves gush into the region while the raincoat-clad locals walk around in the knee-high water. Several areas get submerged in rainwater, while the flash floods also affect the movement in the railway station. The locomotives slow down while panic grips the onlookers.

After receiving little or no rainfall, a heavy downpour finally lashed the region. As a result, the railway colony and the railway station got flooded, ensuing panic among the locals. However, it was later revealed that the incident was due to the improper drainage system.
