Hundreds of elephants moved through across an area of Sri Lanka's North Western Province on Friday August 6.

The spectacular scenes were spotted in Galgamuwa in Kurunegala District.

A video features the herd walking behind one another in a disciplined manner. After crossing fields and forest they amble across a train line and slowly disappear into the forest on the other side.

Elephants in the region are known for straying off corridors reserved for them, to look for food, so locals are familiar with such incidents.

A group of 300 jumbos moved across the forest cover in Sri Lanka's North Western Province on August 6. The incident took place in Galgamuwa, located in the Kurunegala District.

A video features the herd relocating across the forest cover. The jumbos walk behind one another and move in a disciplined manner. They stroll at their own pace and approach the railway tracks in their proximity. Later, the herd crosses over the trails and slowly disappears on the other side.

The elephants in the region are known for straying off their corridors to look for subsistence. They often relocate across the forest covers, making the locals familiar with such incidents.
