A diver off the coast of the Bahamas captured a range of incredibly close-up shots of hammerhead sharks.

The filmer David Palfrey said: "The small island of Bimini sits on the western edge of the Great Bahama Bank.

"This dandy bank drops off to 600 metres. Due to this, pelagic large species come to use the shallow waters of Bimini seasonally. Among these are the great hammerheads.

"Hammerheads, critically endangered, use Bimini through the winter months (Nov-April). In fact, it has become the only reliable place in the world where you can consistently see them!"

This footage was filmed on April 23.
