Artist intricately carves Chinese Olympic champions into dried leaves
An artist carved three Chinese Olympic champions into dried leaves.
The impressive video, shot in the city of Liaocheng in Shandong Province on July 24, shows a 31-year-old man named Jia Jingrui carving Liu Xiang, 2004 Olympic Gold medalist in the 110-metre hurdle, Yang Qian who won the gold medal in the women's 10-metre air rifle and Quan Hongchan who won the gold medal in women's 10-metre platform in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Jia was attracted to leaf carving after he watched a video about it in 2018 and started to learn the art.
It took him at least a week to finish one product but he thought the hardest part is not the carving skills but the creativity of the products.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
