A driver was accidentally run over by her own car after she forgot to pull the handbrake while checking the engine.

The woman was seen at the parking lot of her apartment building while she inspected the engine of her grey sedan in Bangkok Thailand on July 26.

However as she was bent forward in front of the vehicle, the car slowly rolled towards her before knocking her to the ground.

Shocking CCTV footage shows the woman being pushed forward under the car after it ran her over while a frantic neighbour rushed towards her.

One of her neighbours, Panya Ratana, said: ‘I think she forgot to secure the handbrake before trying to fix the car. That was a very dangerous thing to do.

‘She was fine now but needed more time to recover. She was fortunate that another person was at the parking lot that time so she was helped immediately.’

The car owner was rushed to a hospital and suffered a broken hip bone. She was kept at the facility after the incident before being discharged.

Aside from her, no one else was hurt by the incident but the car parked opposite the sedan had some dents and scratches but the insurance company covered the damages.
