Hot kitten sits in fridge to cool off as temperatures rise in Thailand
This is the adorable moment a hot kitten sat inside a fridge to cool off as temperatures rise during summer in Thailand.
Footage shows the five-month-old moggie named Mee Tung enjoying the comfortable space inside a kitchen’s refrigerator in Suphan Buri province on August 4 as temperatures soared to 37 degrees Celsius.
Whenever her owners opened the appliance to take refreshments, the pet cat would immediately jump inside and relax.
Pet owner Chayanuch Nimnoi said: ‘My cat was very clever. Sometimes we would not see her sneak past us while opening the fridge and the next thing we know she’s already inside.’
As the cat loved cold spaces, her owners bought her a stainless steel bowl where she would spend the day sleeping, just like other moggies would do in a box.
To make her bed even cooler, her owners would put the basin in front of an electric fan so she could enjoy the breeze while cooped up inside the steel bed.
Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are on their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
