Stun grenades were used as Israeli forces detained a number of Palestine protesters angry at construction work happening near an ancient tomb in Hebron, West Bank.

Several armed soldiers were seen forcibly grabbing a couple of protesters from a store's front. Stun grenades were thrown to disperse the crowds.

Palestinian locals were reportedly angered by Israel beginning construction work near the Cave of the Patriarchs, an ancient tomb where several religious figures are said to be entombed.

The filmer told Newsflare: "Israel started this week construction work at the Ibrahimi mosque (Cave of the Patriarchs) in order to facilitate the arrival of Jews at the holy site revered by Muslims as one of their most important holy places in Palestine."

This footage was filmed on August 11.
