Crowds of tourists returned to Toronto on Saturday 14 August after the US-Canada border reopened to fully vaccinated Americans.
Both Canada and the US are staring down a fourth wave of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, with the contagious Delta variant spreading rapidly.
Americans have been banned from non-essential travel to Canada since March 2020. Visitors can now come, if they can show they are fully vaccinated and have tested negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours. There are steep fines for falsifying this information.
